Saturday night we also sprayed the ceilings so that we could start painting the walls Sunday. We probably should of waited on the ceilings and really let the primer dry but we wanted to get it done. Sunday morning we got to the house and noticed in most of the corners the painted on the ceilings had cracked from not being dry enough. We will have to go back and fix those areas.
Sunday was spent putting up tape and plastic/paper all over the ceilings to protect them from the wall paint. Once the ceilings were protected Jason was able to spray the walls and my parents painted the rooms that are a different color than the main areas. I continued to tape ceilings since that turned out to be a very lengthy process.
This weekend we accomplished: Purchasing a paint sprayer, Priming the entire house, painting ceilings, taped ceilings, 2 coats of paint on the main floor, second floor hall, stairway, laundry, and spare bedroom sprayed with 2 coats of paint. Eli, Mackenzie, Ryan and 2 bathrooms painted with 1 coat of paint using the roller, running a 7k, 4 trips to home depot (atleast), 7 5-gallons buckets of primer, 7 2-gallon buckets of ceiling paint, 7 gallons of paint, 3 5 gallon buckets of main floor/hallway paint, lots of tape, plastic, paper, water, paper towels and fast food.
All suited up and ready to paint
This is Jason's impression of a mime. The paint suit worked to protect his clothes but not his face or hands! After his paint explosion he had to ditch the paint suit since it had about a gallon of paint on it.
Lunch break! Jason's sister Wendy up to help and ended up covered in paint and never touch a paint brush!
Break time
Ceiling time
My dad finally got a chance to use the paint sprayer
Taping off the ceilings
Not another 5 gallon bucket of paint, they are soo heavy
My dad painting Eli's room, the first room to get color in it
Time to wash the painting tools and go to the next room.
My dad painting the master bathroom
My mom did the cutting in along the ceilings and corners
Mackenzie's room
Mom has the special touch of painting nicely along the ceilings, without getting any paint on the ceiling.
Mackenzie's room with 1 coat of paint on it. The back wall was too cold and the trim paint wouldn't stick to it and needs to be done later.
Ryan's room with 1 coat of paint. The wall with the window is the only wall that I painted. My dad couldn't handle my painting anymore before he took the roller away from me, I was too slow for him.
